Rotterdam is situated on the west coast of the Netherlands, at the mouth of the North Sea. As it is so close to the ocean, the Netherlands has a maritime climate. The weather is influenced by the air currents coming inland from the open water. This makes a visit in the early summer, such as in the end of June, especially attractive. Pleasant temperatures during the day average at approximately 20 ° Celsius, sometimes with peaks above 25 degrees. The month of June has an average of 71 mm of rain, and around 200 sun hours.
During the day, summer clothing is recommended. For the evenings, a warm sweater can be quite nice. A raincoat and/or umbrella may come in handy as well.
