Over 2000 entries for the European Championships for Veterans 2007!
The organisation of the European Veteran Championships Table Tennis 2007 has received a lot of entries in the last two weeks of February. At this moment more than 2000 entry forms have been received. From over 1300 entries also the payment has been received and those names are published on the website www.evc2007.nl. Official registration can only be effectuated after receipt of the payment of the fees.
The organisation of the EVC 2007 and Rotterdam Topsport (the co-organisor) are very pleased with this major interest. There are only 6 weeks to go until the final entry date.
The major interest of the last few weeks for entering in this event has been caused by the subscription of major groups from a.o. England, Czech republic, Sweden, Denmark, Turkey and Slovakia. Beside these group entries the organisation also receives many individual entries daily.
The final entry date is fixed on 15th April 2007.
During the last EVC in 2005 in Bratislava there were almost 2000 participants from all over Europe. This number of entries for the event in The Netherlands has already been reached now and the organisation expects to receive several hundreds of entries more in the next weeks. When the expected number of entries (2,800) for the EVC 2007 in Rotterdam is reached this will be the biggest EVC ever.
The sports palace Ahoy is a unique location for this event. All matches are played in one big playing hall with a maximum of 144 tables in the centre-courts. Beside the playing hall you will find many possibilities to relax before and after the matches in the Ahoy sports palace. There will be a promotion village and also the catering provides many possibilities for a pleasant stay.
The official opening of the EVC will be held on Sunday evening 24th June in the pleasant atmosphere of this sports palace. There will be a spectacular show with dancing, singing and music for the participants and their accompagnees. The matches will start on Monday morning 25th June.
