Participation and confirmation

Almost 2100 players from 35 European countries have entered the 7th European Veterans Table Tennis Championships in Rotterdam: a record for these championships.
• All individual entries have received written confirmation of entry by e-mail or post. If you did not receive a confirmation, please let us know!
• For group entries, confirmation of entries has been sent to the group representative.

Players’ lists on internet
From the end of May, the final players’ lists will be shown on the website www.evc2007.nl, as will all complete doubles partnerships. The list of doubles partnerships will show only those pairings of which both players have confirmed that they wish to play with each other. The organising committee will find partners for those players without a partner who wish to play doubles.

Entry for doubles
Doubles pairings can be corrected or added at the organising committee’s information counter until Monday 25 June 12 noon. Doubles pairings entered by mutual agreement can only be changed if one partner is unable to play in the championships.

Accreditation
The accreditation counter has extensive opening hours. This means that players who do not have to play until Tuesday morning can check in on Tuesday morning as well. Any mens’ doubles 40-49 changes can be registered up to 9.30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Shuttle service
The organising committee will provide a shuttle service for arrival and eparture:
- from Rotterdam Airport
- from Rotterdam Central Station
to Ahoy. For those who have booked a hotel via the organising committee, connecting transport to the hotel will be arranged. This shuttle service will be available on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 June, and on Saturday 30 June and Sunday 1 July. To book this service, fill in the enclosed form, section: Shuttle Service – arrival and departure. Pay in the bus when you get on.
N.B.: If you arrive in The Netherlands at Amsterdam Airport (Schiphol), Rotterdam is a train ride away. The single fare from Amsterdam (Schiphol) station to Rotterdam Central Station is € 10.10.

Farewell party
The farewell party for participants will be held on the Friday evening. The program is divided into two parts. You can make a booking for each part separately.
a. Dinner from 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. with an extensive buffet
b. Party evening from 8.30 p.m. to 12 midnight with live music.
Please book for the farewell party, either or both parts, via the enclosed form, section Party evening. The closing date for bookings is 10 June 2007. Pay when you come to Ahoy for accreditation.
Those who book after 10 June, or who do not want to book until they arrive, pay € 5.00 extra per part. Non-accredited persons wishing to take part in the farewell party also pay € 5.00 per part extra.

Party evening cheaper for players and other accredited persons
In consultation with Ahoy some changes have been made in the planning for the party evening. As a result, we have been able to reduce the price for the party evening (from 8.30 p.m.) with live music from € 32.00 to
€ 20.00. This does mean, though, that the two free drinks originally included are no longer part of the package.
Those who have already paid € 32.00 will be reimbursed on accreditation.

Public transport
For travelling to and from Ahoy and hotels in the centre of Rotterdam, the underground (metro) is advised. Tickets can be bought at the ticket offices at the underground (metro) stations.
Various kinds of tickets are available, such as the strip ticket (to be stamped every journey: the number of strips depends on the distance), day ticket or several-day ticket. Unfortunately, Rotterdam public transport does not give a reduction to championship participants.

Shuttle service Ahoy – hotels during match days
For those who have booked a hotel via the organising committee, a shuttle service can be arranged for the following hotels:
Ibis Hotel Vlaardingen, Golden Tulip Airport, NH Capelle, Novotel Brainpark, Van der Valk Ridderkerk and Bastion Rhoon.
This shuttle service costs € 35.00 for the whole week (Monday to Saturday), and must be booked in advance.

Hotel bookings
Most of the hotels in the city centre are already fully booked. Some rooms in ****-star hotels are still available. There are also rooms in hotels outside the centre which can still be booked via the organising committee. If you have not already booked, do so quickly, as “full is full”. Book via the hotel booking form that you received earlier. You can also download this form from the website www.evc2007.nl or ask the organising committee to send it to you.

Tourist program
The organising committee has a number of interesting excursions on offer for the rest day. See the brochure (sent previously). The closing date for bookings with the discount is 10 June. If you book when you arrive, we can no longer guarantee participation. In addition, you then pay € 5.00 more per person per excursion.

Parking permits
A whole week Ahoy parking permit is available for € 35.00. Parking at Ahoy normally costs € 9.00 per day.

DVD
A DVD of the whole event will be made. This can be ordered for € 20.00 + € 5.00 postage and packing.
